Annette Funicello danced in an amateur production in Fullerton, California, of Swan Lake when Walt Disney discovered her. She was only 13 at that time. Funicello was not asked to be a part of in the Mickey Mouse Club cast in the first season which was at her Mickey Mouse Club colleagues' chagrin. But, the Disney's instincts were to be right as she quickly was the most sought-after performer on The Mickey Mouse Club and included in her own tale Adventures in Dairyland. Funicello grew to love recordings and collaborated with Camerata who was one the most arranging experts of that era, who knew the fundamentals of early musical styles.
